TARA BLANCA Ali embroidery
This traditional Kashmiri technique is inspired by the beautiful nature of Kashmir, including flowers, lakes, and mountains, and involves embroidering by using a thin crochet needle to pick up the thread from below.
At TARA BLANCA, we use different threads depending on the fabric of the stole and the embroidery method, but for ari embroidery we use thread that is about 1.5 times thicker than needle embroidery.
The embroidery is done stitch by stitch, changing colors in a circular motion. Although the stitching method is different, the finished product is similar to French chain stitch.
